Protecting data privacy in emerging scenarios

Resumo:
Organizations, as well as end users, are today resorting to service providers for disseminating and sharing resources they want to make available to others. While convenient for functionalities and economy of scale, such emerging scenarios clearly raises privacy issues. In fact, data storage needs to rely on possible untrusted parties that should provide service without having actual access to the real data values. Also, in data storage as well as in data dissemination it is important to ensure that sensitive information be properly protected from leakage. In this talk, I will illustrate different issues related to the problem of protecting privacy in emerging scenarios, and discuss some recent solutions and research directions.
